Event Description

Too Smart for Their Own Good: The Challenge of Technically Gifted Leaders

  1. Do know leaders or exceptional performers who excel in particular areas, but struggle to work and play well with others?

  2. Do you or others consistently find it difficult to work with people with particular traits, habits or modes of thinking?

  3. Have you struggled to support highly-technical, highly-creative or intense individuals make the shift from individual contributor to effective manager or leader?

In this session, we will discuss common challenges to working with people who "think differently" – those who are exceptionally proficient – even brilliant – in some areas but struggle with basic tasks or to collaborate with others.

In this session, you will:

1.      Examine common traits of people with high intellectual 'horsepower'.

2.      Explore how a better understanding of their 'wiring' can help them – and those who work with them – succeed.

3.      Gain insights into some common challenges – and what works (and what doesn't) to address them.

4.     Enjoy a rich dialogue with other bright, committed professionals about leveraging neurodiversity to develop stronger leaders, teams and organizations.
