During times of life’s transitions we often find ourselves waiting for the “next big break” and become so focused on the next step that we miss opportunities to prepare for the “next big break”. Our focus on the next step may result in leading us back to our original state, being ill prepared for our new elevation or finding that our next big break isn’t even what we wanted.
The purpose of this session is to provide emotional intelligence strategies to address feelings that may arise during your career or other life changing event that may impact your ability to remain focused on internal transformation versus focusing on external challenges.
Objectives:
· State the definition of emotional intelligence
· Discuss the impact of managing one’s emotions during times transition in the life cycle
· Complete a life map to recognize patterns of emotions during times of transition
· Analyze and question patterns of behavior during life transitions
· Formulate a personal development plan to address emotions during transition
· Develop a strategy to evaluate their progress on a daily, weekly

Biography
Thecia Jenkins is a speaker, trainer and consultant residing in Houston, Texas. She is the sole proprietor of Bold Profession Seminars & Consulting and is the Human Resource/Education Director for The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc., a non-profit crisis intervention center for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Pasadena, Texas.
Ms. Jenkins is a sought after speaker on issues related to domestic and sexual violence; and she has presented at conferences for the Texas Council on Family Violence, National College of District Attorneys, and other conferences on a local and national basis.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Sociology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She also has a certificate in Diversity Management from the University of Houston and is a Certified Behavioral Consultant. She is the past Vice President of Professional Development for the Houston Chapter of American Society for Training and Development.
